Emmanuel Akpan-Isie

Emmanuel’s path has been challenging, but he now works to inspire others and transform lives. His story begins with his experience of kidney failure. During these difficult moments, Emmanuel reflected on the care he received and realised he desired a more compassionate approach.

Three years after his recovery, Emmanuel embarked on a mission to pay it forward. A move to Exeter led him to the world of care. His honesty and eagerness to learn opened the door to training, marking the beginning of his career as a support worker. At LD Network, Emmanuel discovered his talent for empathy, listening, and motivating others. He understood the value of being there for someone and, in his words, “Putting a smile on their faces despite the pain of what they are going through.”
